This Saturday the 2010 Melbourne Cup Carnival will kick off at Flemington with Victoria Derby Day featuring an elite nine-race card including the $500,000 Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m).
The 2010 Myer Classic final field features 12 star fillies and mares, with Typhoon Tracy the hot favourite currently paying $2.20 through Luxbet.
Peter Moody’s reigning Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy won the Myer Classic by an emphatic four and three quarter lengths 12 months ago and will attempt back-to-back wins from barrier 10 with Luke Nolen aboard on Saturday.
Other horses at single figure odds are Thousand Guineas winning filly Yosei paying $5, an excellent lightweight chance with 49kg, and dual Group 1 winner Hot Danish at $9.
The 2010 Myer Classic will run as Race 7 at Flemington on Saturday, due to jump at 3:40pm (AEDST).
