2011 Golden Slipper Emergency Do You Think Well Backed at Odds

March 31st, 2011

Golden Slipper emergency Do You Think has been backed in from $51 to $26 with Sportingbet Australia.

The Bart Cummings trained Starcraft colt was an impressive debut winner at Canterbury on the 8th of March, however he will only gain a start if one of the Golden Slipper runners is scratched.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan believes punters are confident Do You Think will be a major factor in the race if he is able to get a start.

“We have seen a number of good bets come in for him, with one punter standing to collect $30,000,” said Sullivan.

“His win at Canterbury was very impressive and it looks like the 1200m will suit him perfectly,” continued Sullivan.

Do You Think’s win was on a dead track, suggesting he will not be fazed should the expected rain hit Rosehill on Golden Slipper day.

Sullivan confirmed that punters had been steering clear of the favourites, instead they were looking for value runners.

“We have hardly taken a decent bet on Sepoy or Smart Missile all week but we have laid a number of horses at big odds,” said Sullivan.

Meanwhile Sullivan confirmed that there had been good support for others at longer odds including Karuta Queen, Salade, Mosheen and Masthead.

Do You think is raced in the same interests as dual Cox Plate winner So You Think, with owner Dato Tan Chin Nam naming the two year old colt in honour of his departed star.
