Former Macau Champion Luen Yat Forever has been installed as favourite for the Group 3 Queens Cup on Golden Slipper day.
Despite having never won in Australia Luen Yat Forever has opened up a $5.50 favourite for the race which will follow the Golden Slipper at Rosehill on Saturday.
Luen Yat Forever raced 23 times in Macau for 12 wins and 9 minor placing’s however he has yet to find that form since coming to Australia.
However is slowly regaining form and will make his third start for new trainer Peter Moody in the Queens Cup at Rosehill on Golden Slipper day.
Luen Yat Forever started as favourite in the Sky High Stakes at Rosehill on the 11th March, however he was outsprinted over the final stages and finished second behind Older Than Time.
Despite his inability to win, Peter Moody remains confident the horse can find his best form.
“He’s going super. He arrived before Christmas so I’m still learning about him, but he’s a nice horse and looks super,” said Moody.
Luen Yat Forever’s best performance since coming to Australia was finishing within a length of Wall Street and Dao Dao in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes during the spring.
In what should be a plus for Luen Yat Forever, he will be piloted by champion Victorian Jockey Luke Nolen, who seemed to get the best out of the horse when he finished second at his last start.
