Mosheen Goes For Broke In 2011 Golden Slipper – Rosehill April 2

April 1st, 2011

Leon Corstens’ Mosheen will have her bid at the 2011 Golden Slipper title at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow April 2, 2011.

Mosheen, who has had only one previous start, won the $70,000 Swettenham Stud Handicap at Caulfield on March 19, 2011.

Corstens is confident that his filly will be competent when it comes to handling the Sydney way of going, as he trains her in that direction on his own track.

“Her work has been good and I’m lucky enough to have my own grass track where I can work her this way or the Sydney way,” Corstens said.

“She’s had plenty of education as far as that goes and she seems to be quite a good professional the way she goes about it.”

While Corstens understands that they are tackling the unknown by racing the inexperienced Mosheen in the $3.5 million Golden Slipper, he believes it is the only way to go.

“It is a big step for her but you have got to be in it to win it,” he said.

Mosheen has drawn the inside barrier (1) for the 1200m Golden Slipper and she will be ridden by jockey Danny Nikolic.

The 2011 Golden Slipper is scheduled as Race 7 in tomorrow’s Golden Slipper Day program and is due to jump at 4.05pm (AEDST).
