Shared Reflections is set to impress when she takes to the track for the Group 1 Golden Slipper this Saturday April 2, 2011.
The two-year-old Umatilla filly has won two of her three career starts, including her last start in the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes on March 12, 2011.
Gooree Pastoral Company Thoroughbred Manager Andrew Baddock is more than happy with the progress Shared Reflections is making.
“She had her final track gallop last Saturday and worked brilliantly,” Baddock said.
“She has had the perfect preparation and because she is cheaply bred (her sire Umatilla’s stud fee was just $3000) she is flying under the radar.”
Shared Reflections is a “fairy tale story” from the breeding season marred by Equine Influenza.
Her dam was supposed to be served by Artie Schiller, but after he was quarantined the Gooree team were forced to settle for Umatilla and the result couldn’t have been better.
“Artie Schiller was in quarantine and looked like being there for some time and Umatilla was standing at the stud and his pedigree gave a blend with Shared Reflection’s dam that had worked in the past,” Baddock said.
“I suggested to The Boss that we use him and he agreed.”
Shared Reflections came out on top in the barrier draw for the $3.5 million Golden Slipper, being allocated gate six.
The talented filly is currently paying odds of $15 at Luxbet after originally opening at a price of $18.
