Bart Cummings will have just two runners in the 2011 Golden Slipper after Do You Think was scratched from the race from the race this morning.
The Bart Cummings trained Starcraft colt won impressively on debut at Canterbury on the 8th of March, however was unable to gain a start in the world’s richest race for two year olds after all 16 horses confirmed they would start.
Do You Think was the subject of a plunge on Wednesday prompting his price to be trimmed from $51 to $26.
“We did see a number of good bets come for him, including one punter who stood to win over $30,000,” said Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan.
Following his scratching from the Golden Slipper Do You Think will now start in The Schweppervescence, a 1400m race which is down to be race one of the day.
Do You Think, who will be ridden by Hugh Bowman is currently a firm $2.25 favourite for the first race on Golden Slipper day.
Do You Think is raced in the same interests as Cox Plate winner So You Think, with owner Dato Tan Chin Nam naming the young colt in honour of his departed star.
Cummings will also saddle up Salade ($15.00), who will be ridden by Corey Brown and Empress Rock ($101.00), who will be ridden by Michael Rodd.
