Upset result in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes sees Mirjulisa Lass win

The first of the Group 1’s has been run and won at Rosehill Gardens with the Vinery Stud Stakes ┬átaken out by Mirjulisa Lass in an absolute boilover.

Paying more than $60 at Luxbet.com she had the race handed to her on a platter by some of the more fancied runners.

Not for the first time today a jockey has cost a favourite a winning chance with Craig Williams putting Brazilian Pulse three wide the entire journey.

The pace was fair early on and Do Ra Mi had the run of the race a couple back with cover.

They turned for home and Brazilian Pulse found yet another new racing line in an erratic performance form Williams while Mirjulia Lass was ridden patiently on the inside and the field seemed to move right out her way.

On the other side of the track Fibrillation went around all of them to launch a late run on the outside while the rest fought for position in the middle.

With 300m to go though the race was all over with Mirjulisa Lass giving her connections an astonishing win considering she was purchased for a mere $2500.

Fibrillation lost no friends in running home second while Brazilian Pulse still grabbed a place despite doing way too much work early.

Pinker Pinker ran home for fourth setting up an intriguing contest when these horses head for the AJC Oaks.

One thing’s for certain, you won’t be getting anywhere near $60 for the winner the next time she steps out and Fibrillation will be a hell of a lot shorter as well.

Brazilian Pulse will do a lot better with more luck and a better ride with extra distance to suit Pinker Pinker.

Today in the Vinery Stud Stakes though it’s all about Mirjulisa Lass proving anything is possible on Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill.
