More Joyous started the race as $1.24 odds-on favourite in the first group 1 race of Golden Slipper Day.
In what is becoming a regular habit, More Joyous won the Queen Of The Turf Stakes in what looked like just an exhibition gallop, out-classing the already talented field with ease.
The race began with Palacio De Cristal missing the start and Montana Flyer shooting to the front to lead the field early on.
More Joyous sat in a perfect position two and a half lengths behind Montana Flyer on the rail.
The field ran wide as the rounded the home turn before More Joyous let loose at the 200 metres, breaking away from the remainder of the 2011 Queen Of The Turf Stakes field to post an astounding win.
Melito put in an honest run to finish in second, while Happy Hippy finished well in third.
The race was won by More Joyous in a time of 1 minute and 29.36 seconds.
Typhoon Tracy won the Queen Of The Turf Stakes last year shortly before being named Australia’s Horse of The Year, a title that may be on the cards for superstar More Joyous.
Gai Waterhouse was more than thrilled with More Joyous’ winning performance.
“She was the short priced favourite and deserved to win like one,” she said.
More Joyous has now won 14 of her 18 career starts and appears on track to close her preparation with a win in the Doncaster Handicap at Randwick on April 16, 2011.
