The 2011 AJC Sires Produce Stakes battle for favouritism has got off to an electric start when betting markets opened earlier in the day.
Smart Missile was assured of jumping as the punters pick but following his scratching earlier in the week there are now two contenders pushing for that mantle.
Do You Think is two from two in his career and after opening at $5.50 he was swarmed and is now into $3.50 with online bookmaker Luxbet.com.
Hot on his heels at $3.60 is Elite Falls which opened at a crazy $6.00 quote.
She ran third in the Golden Slipper last week against all the odds and with a better barrier draw she’s a major chance in the Sires Produce Stakes.
Despite the flood of money up front it’s the third favourite that Luxbet.com expert Paul Vincent is picking.
“Helmet deliberately missed the Slipper to be targeted for the AJC Sires produce Stakes after the barrier mishap in Melbourne,” he said.
“He has loads of ability in my opinion and will settle in front of his main rivals and prove too strong.”
Helmet has plenty of support as well and was quickly knocked off his opening $7.00 quote and is now in as far as $5.00.
Vincent does however acknowledge the punters choice as a strong runner.
” The unbeaten Do You Think has impressed at both starts and looms as the logical danger.”
Further back in the field is the second Golden Slipper runner Shared Reflections which also has plenty of support, in from $13 to $9.00.
Uate follows at $10 and is one of the biggest movers in the field, the unbeaten colt opened a massive five point higher at $15.
Pane In The Glass is a $12 hope while Golden Slipper scratching Fast And Sexy is at $15.
The roughie of the field is Kings Pact, an unlikely $81 chance.
