2011 Doncaster Mile Prelude – Betting & Form Update

April 8th, 2011

The $125,000 Doncaster Mile Prelude (1200m) is just around the corner and here you will find the latest form and betting updates for the race that will run tomorrow April 9, 2011.

The Group 3 Doncaster Mile Prelude winner is given guaranteed entrance into the Group 1 Doncaster Mile on April 16, 2011.

The current favourite to win the 2011 Doncaster Mile Prelude is John O’Shea’s Glintz, who has won four of his 10 race start.

The Pins four-year-old ran on well in his first-up performance this preparation and then had a horror run in the Group 3 Newcastle Newmarket Handicap, finishing last by eight lengths.

Glintz has since has a winning trial and will hopefully be back to his best when he takes to the track for Saturday’s race.

The gelding is currently paying odds of $6.50 to win the 2011 Doncaster Mile Prelude at Luxbet.

Current second favourite for the 2011 Doncaster Mile Prelude is Lebrechaun is paying odds of $7 while third favourite Snow Alert is paying $8.50 at Luxbet.

2011 Doncaster Mile Prelude Form

#4 Snow Alert

Career: 31-7-5-4

2nd-up

Snow Alert has put in very few poor runs during his career. The five-year-old prefers a dry track but has proved himself on a dead rated track in the past.

#13 Lebrechaun

Career: 20-7-3-4

4th race this prep

Lebrechaun has put in three good runs during this current prep, winning the Listed National Sprint two starts back against a talented field. Definitely in with a chance here.

#15 Glintz

Career: 10-4-1-3

3rd race this prep

Despite a horrible run last start, Glintz has since won a trial race and appears to be back on track. Don’t dismiss him based solely on his last performance.
