Epsom Handicap 2011 Set To Be Sincero’s Final Handicap Run

September 27th, 2011

This Saturday’s Epsom Handicap 2011 is likely the last time Sincero will be seen in a handicap race during his career.

The four-year-old gelding, who won the Stradbroke Handicap during Brisbane’s winter carnival, is expected to be weighted out of all other handicap races.

“The Epsom will probably be the last time we see him in a handicap race, especially if he wins,” trainer Stephen Farley said.

“I would say his future after Saturday will be as a weight-for-age horse. Not that’s there anything wrong with that.

“It’s a nice problem to have.”

Sincero will carry the top weight of 57 kilograms in the 2011 Epsom Handicap.

“Looking at it he is handicapped right up to his best but I suppose he has probably earned it,” Farley said.

“I’m not complaining by any means.

“He is a horse who is now more suited to weight-for-age.”

While Sincero has been unbeatable since his Stradbroke Handicap win, Farley anticipates Saturday’s race to be his toughest test yet.

“There looks to be a bit more depth to the race this year so it’s going to be a good test for him,” he said.

“Still, he’s given every indication since the George Main that he’ll be very hard to beat.”
