The 2YO Inglis Classic 2012 will be run this Saturday at Rosehill Gardens and the nominations and weights have been released.
There are 17 horses still in with a chance at the $250,000 event which is restricted to purchases through the Inglis sales.
The race is run over a trip of 1200m and is effectively the same in many ways as the Magic Millions 2YO classic held on the weekend.
Don’t be fooled by the difference in prize money either as many of these horses would have been competitive in that race were they eligible to have run.
There’s a pretty good split of genders in the Inglis Classic this year as well with nine colts and geldings taking on eight fillies.
It could be an interesting cut when the final field is released tomorrow and there are only 16 available spots in the field.
Should all trainers accept it would mean one horse misses out on a shot at the quarter of a million.
Making things even more interesting is the fact on the current ballot entry eight horses are locked in equal 10th spot.
