Pinwheel is the current favourite to take his prize earnings to $1 million with a win in the 2012 Warwick Stakes at Warwick Farm Racecourse this Saturday.
The seven-year-old gelding is presently paying odds of $3.40 to win the race at bookmaker.com.au.
Pinwheel has won 11 of his 33 race starts and has earned more than $965,000 in prize money during his impressive career.
The Lonhro gelding won his last start in the Group 3 Missile Stakes and is well backed to do the same in Saturday’s 2012 Warwick Stakes.
New Zealander Rock ‘N’ Pop is second favourite to win the 2012 Warwick Stakes at $5, while Secret Admirer is on the third line of betting at $6.
Secret Admirer will be ridden by jockey Corey Brown in the 2012 Warwick Stakes, despite regular jockey Brenton Avdulla partnering her in all three of her race wins.
Avdulla will now ride Polish Knight, who is paying $26, in the 2012 Warwick Stakes.
“It’s obviously different,” Avdulla said of his replacement.
“She’s been a very good horse to me and I wish (owner) John Muir and (trainer) Grahame (Begg) all the best with her.
“But hopefully I’ve found a horse that can take me somewhere this carnival.
“One door closes and another one opens, I’m just looking at it that way. And hopefully in time there’s a time to get back on her.”
Secret Admirer is scheduled to run in the Caulfield Cup 2012 later in the carnival.
Tagus is the least backed horse in the 2012 Warwick Stakes betting and is paying $101 to win the race.
