The final field and barrier draw for the 2012 The Run To The Rose has revealed another clash between Pierro and All Too Hard At Rosehill Gardens Racecourse this Saturday.
The two horses will face just four other runners in the race as they attempt to claim spring glory.
Pierro won the last clash between the two star colts, claiming victory in the Group 1 Inglis Sires’ Produce Stakes in April.
All Too Hard will likely have the fitness edge over Pierro, having run in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill Racecourse last start.
The Casino Price colt finished third behind Snitzerland and Driefontein in the race.
Taking advantage of the small 2012 The Run To The Rose field is trainer Anthony Cummings, who has two horses in the race.
Both Ninth Legion and Your Song will represent Cummings in the $125,000 race.
However, the trainer has revealed that Ninth Legion is not a certain runner just yet.
“With Ninth Legion I’ll have a chat with the Segenhoe team before making a definite decision,” Cummings said.
“I’ll see how he works in the morning and then who turns up in the race but he might already be looking for 1400 metres.”
Ninth Legion may instead go the the Ming Dynasty one week later.
“He’s got a really good constitution so going into the Golden Rose seven days from the Ming Dynasty shouldn’t be a problem,” Cummings said.
The three-year-old has won two of his four race starts and has earned more than $75,000 in prize money during his short career.
