12 horses have accepted for a run in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday September 8, 2012.
Included in the 2012 Let’s Elope Stakes final field is Yosei, who will be resuming for the spring in the race.
Yosei finished third in her recent barrier trial at Cranbourne in an effort that pleased her trainer Stuart Webb.
The five-year-old mare has never won a race at Flemington in the past and will be looking to overcome that barrier in Saturday’s 2012 Let’s Elope Stakes.
The Invincible Spirit mare will also have to contend with the top weight of 58.5 kilograms.
“She’s only small and as a result she’s never carried weight well,” Webb said.
“And for some reason she’s probably not at her best at Flemington either.
“But I still expect her to run well at Flemington – I’d be disappointed if she didn’t after her good trial.”
Yosei has drawn barrier five for the 2012 Let’s Elope Stakes and will be ridden by regular jockey Michelle Payne.
Miss Artistic is also included in the 2012 Let’s Elope Stakes final field and barrier draw
The New Zealand mare has not had a run since finishing 10th in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm in June.
The four-year-old finished a close second to Invest in the Group 3 The Roses at Doomben Racecourse prior to her Queensland Oaks defeat.
Miss Artistic has won four of her 14 race starts and has earned more than $280,000 in prize money.
The mare will jump from barrier nine in the 2012 Let’s Elope Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Damien Oliver.
